The Hesbé-Bolzonello Art Gallery in Saint-Paul de Vence is above all a family affair..
Roger Bolzonello composed his first paintings at the age of 13 in the north of France. Then in 1994 he moved to this pretty village in Provence and introduce his daughter, Sandrine Hesbé, to oil painting.
Quickly she will fall in love with the provincial landscapes just like his father. Indeed, it is as a family that they will share this passion. In their paintings, the matter is as alive, luminous, the shadows wander, an effect that we owe to perfect control of impasto, legacy of the great impressionists.
